Sportsmanship :)

Sportsmanship

Helping others is a very important thing, because it shows that you are a good person. Today I saw a video about teamwork. It was about a girl named Sarah that was injured while in a softball game. What surprised me was that none of her teammates went to help her out, but instead the opposing team went to help Sarah. Two players from Central Washington, the opposing team, Liz and Mallary went to help Sarah out. They carried her to every single base and Sarah touched all the bases with her left foot because her right foot was injured. I think this was a very sweet thing of Liz and Mallary to do. Even if they were playing against Sarah's team, they still went to help her out. Now that is what I call teamwork :) Always choose the right!

What is sportsmanship? Is it just helping others who have helped you? Sportsmanship is helping people around you when they need help, even if they may be strangers. When you help someone out, that makes you feel good about yourself. It also shows the person that you’re helping, that you have a good charatcer and you are a very caring person. It also shows that you have a big heart because you’re taking time to help someone in need.

If I see someone around me that needs help, I try my best to give that person my help. What are some examples of sportsmanship? The littlest things can be sportsmanship. It’s a great thing to help others because you are helping people out when other people don’t. In a soccer game, a player might stumble and fall, and there will always be that helpful teammate that will help them up. It’s a great feeling to know that someone is always going to be there to help you. Choose the right, and show sportsmanship! :)

HPHS Reconstitution? -_-

There had been rumors that Huntington Park High School was going to be reconstituted starting July 2011. Nobody knew what was going to happen, but on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, the school board was going to make their final decision about the reconstitution. So, on that same day...there was a walkout from Huntington Park High School! About 300 students walked out of school with 10 to 15 teachers and staff. Their goal was to walk all the way downtown, to have a talk with the superintendent. It took them about 3-4 hours to get there. When they finally arrived, the building was already surrounded by police cars and the superintendent wouldn't come down and talk to the students. They decided to let in 4 students so they could say their opinion on the subject. After all that walking and all the protesting, the school board still approved the reconstitution. ):

I think it isn't fair that they're making all teachers, administration, and staff re-apply for their jobs. They also said they would be hiring only 50% back. So that meant, not all teachers would be teaching at Huntington Park High School anymore. I do think that we need to improve our scores, but they don't need to reconstitute this school. I think it's going to impossible for them to do everything by July because if they want to make this major change, they need to plan ahead of time. I really do wish things would stay how they are right now, there is no need for a reconstitution!

Vacation :p

So during my vacation, I did many interesting things! One of the things that I was very happy about was: my license. I finally got it! :) When i first got my permit, i had to wait 6 months before doing the driving test and finally I got a chance to take it on April 26th and i passed! I was so happy because I've been waiting a really long time for my license. The thing I did during most of my vacation was work. I worked here at school and they placed me in the book-room, so we were really busy because many teachers were ordering books and we had to scan them & do paperwork for them.

Another thing I did was visit Calstate LA :) They gave us a little tour of the school, and we also learned about the major we were thinking of studying. Since my goal is to become a registered nurse, I learned that the nursing program took 5 years to complete. I know it will take me a while to finish college, but I'm not going to give up on my goal! Since I did get accepted to Calstate LA, I'll be going there for the Fall 2011 semester and I'm really excited :)

March 22nd: F.A.M.E. :)

So one thing I'm looking forward to in this month is Chris Brown's new album: F.A.M.E. He has had a rough 2 years after the incident that happened, but he's on his way back to the top :) I've always supported him because I love him and his music. Many singers sound different when they sing live, but Chris is one of the people that sounds amazing when he's singing live.

This album is going to be different than the rest because in this album, he’s collaborating with many different artists such as: Justin Bieber and Big Sean. He has been releasing many songs so we can see how his album is going to sound and by just listening to the songs he’s releasing right now, makes me so excited to see how his album sounds. One of the songs he released was “Beautiful People” featuring Benny Benassi. That song is really good because it’s kind of a techno song and it’s different than what his music usually sounds like. He also released a song called “Look at Me Now” featuring Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne. This song is so dope because Chris raps. In my opinion, he sounds better than many rappers out there right now (Soulja Boy). Hopefully after he releases this album, everyone will give him a second chance because he’s been trying his best and he really deserves a second chance.

Team Breezy.. is the best. We will always support Chris no matter what because we <3 him J I really like the album’s cover because it looks very creative and full of art. Chris Brown loves art and it’s cute how he calls his art “Breezy Art”. :p Well, the last thing I’m going to say is: GO BUY THAT F.A.M.E. ALBUM ASAP! Thank you J
